Anti-histamines (Benadryl, Dimetane, others) causes an increase in pressure in the eyes and should be avoided by people with glaucoma.

Diuretics such as Chlorothiazide (Diuril) and Furosemide (Lasix) can cause dryness and blurred vision.

Plaquenil used in arthritis, lupus and malaria can reduce your ability to see the colour red and can cause a distortion of the central vision. Lines that are straight may look wavy, making reading difficult.

Oral Contraceptives (Ovral, Demulen, Ortho and others) also known as “Birth Control Pills” can cause inflammation of the optic nerve, blurred vision, migrane headaches, eye vein occlusion and poor tolerance for contact lenses.

Steroids (predisone, decadron and others) if used in high dosages for a long time, can cause cataracts and glaucomo, swelling of the optic nerve, affect colour perception and even potential loss of vision.

Tetracycline antibiotic (Tetracyn and others) can cause swelling of the optic nerve, reduce vision, and cause a blurring sensation in the eyes.
