Hafiz Walji OD

Your Optometrist Dr. Hafiz Walji

Dr. Hafiz H. Walji founded Walji Eye Care Services Inc. after receiving his Honours Bachelor of Sciences degree from the University of Waterloo, a Masters of Sciences degree from the University of Toronto, and his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Waterloo. He is one of the original pioneers of the design and use of Orthokeratology Treatment together with the late Dr. Charles May, Dr. Stuart Grant, Dr. Richard Wlodyga, Dr. Donald Harris, Dr. Ned Paige and Optician Nick Stoyan, among others in the early 1990's. He has been a practicing Optometrist for over 30 years, serving families in the Markham, York Region as well as The Greater Toronto Area and beyond the province of Ontario as well, on patient recommendations.

Dr. H. H. Walji has received ten Reader’s Choice Awards “Best Optometrist” for his service to the community as well as his eye care articles published in the Markham Economist and Sun Community Newspaper (click on the Eye Care Blog button in the menu above for sample articles). He is also member of his local Lions Club, and has an EyeGlass Recycling Collection Station in his clinic, which collects gently used eyeglasses to donate to those in need.

Dr. H. H. Walji is a member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists, and is a Fellow of the International Ortho-Keratology Section.

Dr. Hafiz Walji was born in Tanzania, East Africa and immigrated to Canada at the age of 16 with his parents and two sisters. He is happily married with three grown-up children. In his spare time, he immensely enjoys Music, Travelling the world and has a cult-like passion for World Football (Soccer).
